Since 2017, P21 has established itself as one of Seoul’s most exciting and influential young galleries. Thus far its short history, P21 founder Soo Choi has nurtured the careers of emerging artists like Haneyl Choi while also representing established figures such as Lee Hyungkoo and Choi Jeonghwa. In this interview, we spoke with Ms. Choi about the gallery’s genesis, its position amid Seoul's contemporary art scene, idiosyncracies of the Korean art market, and what lies ahead for P21.
